This specification defines the requirements for trivalent chrome conversion treatments of zinc or zinc alloy plating applied to ferrous surfaces. This passivation of the plating is to impart protection against the formation of white corrosion products. No hexavalent chromium content is allowed. It is expected that the conversion coating be formulated for the particular plating used.
