Trelleborg – TES-5820

This standard covers the application of E-coat to metal for the purpose of corrosion protection and outlines controls for bonded rubber applications. E-coat is used to protect metal substrates from corrosion and typically is not required to be a structural component of the system. This specification was developed to set standards for the application of E-coat in a manner that promotes structural bond performance. In certain applications adhesive is applied to the E-coat and subsequently in mold bonded or post vulcanization bonded to a rubber component. This standard helps to insure that the E-coat has good adhesion and strength to consistently perform to the designed intent of the article.
