Navistar – CEMS G-5

This specification covers Autodeposition /Aquence® Coatings intended as an
undercoat for exterior and interior applications over either hot or cold
rolled steel. They are both water based materials exhibiting low VOC, no
HAPS and no heavy metals. Aquence Coatings can be commonly referred to as AQ
866 or AQ 930.
Interior Applications:
*Aquence 866 cures when exposed for 20 minutes at 230°F (110°C) and can be
top coated below 250°F (121°C).
*Subsequent coatings, containing isopropyl alcohol, may exhibit poor
inter-coat adhesion to AQ 866 and would require lab tests to determine
compatibility.
Interior or Exterior Applications:
Aquence 930 cures when exposed for 30 minutes at 375°F (177°C) and can be
top coated below 450°F (232°C).
This specification applies to the as-received liquid and the as-applied dry
film properly requirements of the primer for the sections.
