This standard outlines the performance requirements and the procedures for applying three types of a proprietary Autophoretic corrosion resistant coating to non-zinc coated steel parts where enclosed surfaces must be protected. Since these are immersion processes, the coatings can be successfully applied to small and large parts, or complex shaped parts to provide complete coverage. There are no throw-power limitations or electricity used in these processes. Applications for chassis components must be reviewed and approved by the Materials Engineering Corrosion Group before implementation. This coating cannot be approved for box sections until the process is reviewed and validated by the Corrosion and Paint Groups.
